What It’s Like Staying at Grand Solmar Land's End Resort in Cabo, San Lucas

If you're dreaming of an upscale beach getaway with infinity pools, oceanfront suites, and margaritas that hit just right, Grand Solmar in Cabo San Lucas might be your perfect match. Nestled between dramatic cliffs and facing the iconic Arch of Cabo San Lucas, this 5-star luxury resort in Mexico offers a seamless blend of comfort, style, and service. Whether you're planning a romantic escape, a friends’ trip, or a solo recharge, Grand Solmar—where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez at the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula—delivers a next-level experience that’s as relaxing as it is photo-worthy. Here's everything you need to know about my stay—and why I’d absolutely go back.

Getting to Cabo From Texas + First Impressions at Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa

One of the best things about planning a trip to Cabo from Texas is how easy it is to get there. We booked a direct flight that was just 2 hours and 30 minutes—a quick escape that made the whole experience feel effortless. Back when we lived in New Jersey, Cabo was always on our travel wishlist, but now that we’re so much closer, we finally made it happen. Having explored other destinations in Mexico, it felt like the perfect time to give Cabo San Lucas the spotlight.

The warm welcome started the moment we stepped off the shuttle. Just outside the check-in area, we were greeted with refreshing drinks—mocktails or cocktails depending on your vibe—a small but thoughtful touch that instantly set the tone. Check-in was smooth and quick, and before we knew it, we were heading to our suite.

We were placed in a spacious oceanfront ‘Grand Studio’ featuring a comfy king-size bed, plus a Murphy bed that pulled out from the wall—perfect for our 11-year-old. The highlight? A private terrace with panoramic views of the beach, and to the left, the adult-only infinity pool. A total dream for winding down and soaking it all in.

Just a 12-minute ride away, you'll find yourself at the stunning, crystal-clear waters of the popular Medano Beach.

Why the All-Inclusive Package at Grand Solmar Was Totally Worth It

Since we planned to spend most of our time at the resort, we opted for the all-inclusive package for the majority of our stay—and it was absolutely worth it. This package gave us unlimited access to all of Grand Solmar’s on-site restaurants, allowing us to dine as often as we liked without worrying about extra costs.

We started enjoying the benefits the moment we arrived, heading straight to Don Luis for an early dinner after our flight. The menu, which blends fresh local ingredients with international flavors, did not disappoint. The fajitas were fresh and flavorful, and the service was outstanding. We left full and completely satisfied.

Another highlight was dinner at the Asian Lounge, where we enjoyed sushi and a wide variety of Asian-inspired dishes. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented—definitely one of our favorite meals during the trip.

Even our son had his share of fun, sipping on unlimited Shirley Temples from the pool bars Las Olas and Las Brisas, making it a truly family-friendly all-inclusive experience. There is a total of 8 Restaurants & Dining Spots in this gorgeous property.

  1. Don Luis – Mexican-Mediterranean fusion with local ingredients and Pacific views

  2. Asian Lounge – Sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-inspired dishes in a serene, oceanfront setting t

  3. Sports Bar – Casual international comfort food with big-screen sports viewing (close to the check-in office area)

  4. Las Brisas – Relaxed beachfront spot serving snacks, cocktails, and light meals

  5. Las Olas (Pool Bar) – Poolside bites and tropical drinks near the infinity pools

  6. Deli Café – Casual coffee shop offering pastries, sandwiches, salads, and espresso (we loved the gelato from here!)

  7. Sunset Pool Bar – Light snacks, salads, and craft cocktails beside the sunset-view pool

🌙 Resort Vibes at Night

  • The nighttime lighting throughout the resort made everything feel magical.

  • It was beautifully maintained and truly felt like a 5-star resort experience.

  • We often saw staff cleaning early every morning, keeping the grounds spotless.

☀️ Pool Access in August

  • We traveled in August, and while it was hot, we loved it.
