bum cake vintage, chokers

chokers and sneakers

An accessory we keep seeing roll over from one season to another is here to stay! And I’m very excited since its a little piece of jewelry that really transforms a look into something more.  I’m referring to chokers. I’m very happy to introduce you all to Bum-Cake Vintage’s latest collection, coming to us from Brooklyn, NY. ‘Adorn’ is inspired by summertime in the 70s.  You can add a subtle pop of color with these handmade chokers to any fall or winter ensemble.  There are several vintage trims and design textures available on the site and colors like mustard, amber, mahogany, salmon, among others.…

jumpsuit with a cape

jumpsuits have been part of every women’s wardrobe at one point or another. Even though, it’s when we visit a restroom that we realize they are a pain-in-the butt to wear, we insist on wearing them.  Understanding the downside to this onesie design, they have decided to introduce a new style that will make us forget and will keep us hooked… what better way then to reinvent such a staple like the jumpsuit by adding a cape. Not just any cape, may I add, one that makes you feel fabulous to whole new degree.  This sleeveless jumpsuit in jersey features a circular cape in woven crêpe fabric (extremely comfortable…

long denim jacket

hey everyone, You shouldn’t be surprised that I’m wearing my distressed long denim jacket, again! If you follow me on Instagram you are well aware of the fact that I’m obsessed with this jacket.  In my teenage years and the beginning of my adult life,  I wore a cropped denim jacket too many times. At this point of my life, I was a bit over a denim jacket. Then I discovered this slightly reinvented design and I had to have it. The length is really the key here… by making this staple piece longer it introduced me with new ideas to create a unique look.…

love & basketball

With basketball season just around the corner it’s only appropriate to take it there. Who else is excited for the New York Knicks this year? Being a knickerbocker requires a lot of faith and patience and I’ll be happy if we make it the playoffs this year. Rumor has it, with the few new players we’ve acquired, it may actually happen for us loyal fans.  I just remember visiting the madison square garden when I was a little girl and shouting from the old teal seats for John Starks. Regardless if witnessing a win or another loosing game (hahaha) MSG…

Desigual: Interview with brand’s Director Daniel Perez

We made it to the end of NYFW 2016 this past Thursday. I had such an amazing experience and I met so many awesome models, photographers, designers and fashion enthusiasts.  Luckily we don’t necessarily have to be there to see what’s happening backstage or on the runway.  We can catch all of it or at least a glimpse on the internet.  Today we can rewind a bit since I’m bringing you back to Day ONE of NYFW on Sept 8th.  I had the pleasure of going back stage to capture some action during hair and make up in preparation to the…

AFROPUNK FEST Brooklyn 2016

If you added me on snapchat (neeonhue) you already know where you could find me last weekend. I attended Afropunk 2016! It was an amazing hot day with great musicians and creatives everywhere.  We enjoyed performances by Cee Lo Green, George Clinton, Sate, Prayers, and indie rock band TV on the radio.  Bonus was hanging out backstage most of the day where we met the band members of TOTR and being up close in the photo pit during their show .  I bumped into fashion queen Cipriana Quann and style lover Maga Moura, lovely to meet them both since I’ve always been a…

Love your #Swimbody

hey hey! As time continues to fly by I continue to be in denial. Winter is NOT coming. And I will continue to believe summer will last forever. I know some of you already have plans for Labor Day weekend… the weekend WE tend to, more like you say goodbye to summer (I refuse to lol). Staycation perhaps? or going out of town for a few days to a tropical destination? I’m considering MIA or any domestic location later in September… And while trying to stretch out the summer as much as I could I must bring my bathing suits with me. Most of you have…

simmer down

Sometimes we need to escape. We need to escape not because life is terrible back home but because we want to go explore, take on a new adventure or in this case simply relax in paradise.  This year we decided to head back to Jamaica again. We had visited the island when my son was 4 months old, now this time he’s 4 years old. Oh how times flies by.  We relived some great memories and the thought still remains… The island is beautiful and their people even more.  We spent most of the time enjoying the waves in the Caribbean and soaking…
