Henrik Vibskov Boutique

over sized everything please… It is coat season and we need the extra room. We need it in case we decide to add a few layers underneath. Some days it’s 60 degrees in New York this winter, but the way I tend to survive the days it’s 20 degrees is by wearing as much as I can underneath my coat. I had to pay my favorite boutique in Soho, NY a visit. Henrik Vibskov boutique not only carries some amazing eclectic pieces but they also carry a nice selection of coats.  This heavy wool ‘Last’ coat features a wide lapel, a…

Shine on with Metallics

metallic lipstick was my first step into a lustrous world. I then moved on to metallic eye shadow, metallic shoes… the obsession is real. Now you see me sporting a silver metallic puffer coat. Granted every clothing store and designer has been pushing shiny things my way  but I’m okay with it. Ya’ll remember metallics in the 80’s, well its back, in case you didn’t notice. The good thing is we don’t have to wear it with teased hair anymore. 😛 Pewter in metallic tends to stand out too much but the fact that this piece is a casual puffer coat, it…

Nyerie

Happy New Year! How about we start shopping from designers around the globe without having the need to leave the apartment. This is why you all need to visit Nyerie’s shop online.  They have curated pieces from various designers that are the so unique, that if you are ready to stand out, I guarantee you will want every single piece they carry in your closet.  Here, I’m wearing a pair of striped trousers in black and white by ‘KM by Lange’ with an elastic waistband and pleating in the front. GCDS

I recently started listening to ‘UNSTYLED’.  A podcast hosted by co-founder and editor in chief at Refinery 29, Christene Barberich.  A podcast that covers life, work and love as told through the things we wear.  I have to say I’m hooked. I love all the stories they’ve shared and to be honest I’ve always secretly been a huge fan of Christene Barberich.  I’ve met her several times and we exchanged a few words and she is such a sweet heart. I admire her ‘women boss’ demeanor (because she is a boss), all her accomplishments and her amazing sense of style while staying…

Secret Location – Wanda Nylon and more…

We all have a place we like to flee to in search of some inspiration.  Whether it’s a museum, a walk at the beach, the woods, or sitting on building steps in the middle of the city, watching people walk by.  We like a place that makes us think of the unimaginable or exhibits some one else’s idea of the unimaginable. I haven’t made my way up to visit Vancouver yet but when I do, I will make sure to stop by ‘Secret Location’ to seek this ‘sartorial creativity’ they refer to as. Secret Location,  an innovative concept store and an inspiring place…

billow sleeves

Big billow sleeves, we’ve been seeing them since summer time this year. Here’s one way to show off these sleeves during Autumn/Winter.  In this case it’s more than just the ruched sleeves… This cut out high neck and gingham print seal the deal giving you the ultimate eye catching appeal when ever you wear it.  Even though, there are several details that make this top loud, turns out it’s very versatile to style. Here I paired it with a ‘look at me’ vinyl red skirt, but you can refrain from such a flamboyant fabric and go for something more minimalistic.  You…

Kenzo x H&M

Most designers speak to women with a fixed sense of style, while others manage to connect with every girl that’s out there. This collection, released earlier this month, has proven to cater to everyone. It introduced a variety of cool styles leaving everyone a piece to gravitate towards. It was one of those collaborations that everyone was anticipating to see in stores. I’m referring to Kenzo x H&M.  Some pieces were designed with loud attributes like wild tiger stripes, bold color blocking, fuzzy fabrics and psychedelic floral prints to more subtle pieces with geometric shapes and the world renown tiger logo.  I  found a piece that instantly felt…

Henrik Vibskov

Henrik Vibskov. A Scandinavian designer with creative forces that go beyond what we see trending on the runway. Henrik’s creative vision is like no other.  He continues to exceed our expectations with his unique art expression in every collection.  If you stop by his boutique in Soho in NY, you’ll find his pieces are as admirable as the paintings at the MoMA.  From accessories like chokers to fun-shaped handbags and sunglasses, this boutique will spruce up even the most distinguished closet.  Here we have this ‘PS’ knit dress featuring an abstract pattern, ribbed neck, and polka dots!  The print reminds me of abstract art from the 80s.  I…
