We all have a place we like to flee to in search of some inspiration. Whether it’s a museum, a walk at the beach, the woods, or sitting on building steps in the middle of the city, watching people walk by. We like a place that makes us think of the unimaginable or exhibits some one else’s idea of the unimaginable. I haven’t made my way up to visit Vancouver yet but when I do, I will make sure to stop by ‘Secret Location’ to seek this ‘sartorial creativity’ they refer to as. Secret Location, an innovative concept store and an inspiring place of intellectual expression. We get a glimpse to this open box when visiting their shop online. The pieces they have curated for us from these high end designers is just one way to reveal part of this mindset that I’m completely drawn to. There’s more to this store, including it’s impeccable decor and original creativity. They welcome you with a vending machine located by the entrance where you could swipe you credit card to purchase a ‘Le chocolat des Français’ chocolate bar or perhaps a set of ‘House of Holland’ nails. Their window installations are out of this world, in a good way.
Before I make my way to this store very soon, I’d like to show you some of my personal favorite pieces available at their shop now. This white matte transparent ‘Jacky’ jacket featuring black trims is by Paris designer ‘Wanda Nylon’. It provides a good balance between retro futurism combined with a sporty edge. This piece really pushes fashion innovation to something we’ve never seen before and it’s exactly what us fashion ladies want to add to our shopping cart. It’s a piece I’d wear as often as I could. Ah hell, I’d even wear it in the summer with a bikini. Here though, I’ve paired this jacket with a squared skirt by Caroline Kummelstedt. It’s what could appear at first like a wrap mini skirt but if you look closely its just misshapen denim cuts all stitched together with green thread. Also other green details include, a shimmery green fabric in the front and a patent aqua green pocket in the back plus a thick zipper on the side. The light and darker wash patches really pushes fashion forward boundaries.
